Lecture Course in Wintersemester 2022/23: K3 surfaces

Lecturer: Georg Oberdieck

Date: Monday, 10-12

Location: Endenicher Allee 60 - Seminar Room 0.006

First day of class: Monday, October 10

Overview:The course will be an introduction to the rich geometry of K3 surfaces. A focus will lie on the Torelli theorem for K3 surfaces, one of the most remarkable theorems in algebraic geometry in the 20th century. Prerequisites are a background in Algebraic Geometry (on the level of Hartshorne's book, mostly over the complex ground field) and some complex geometry. The main references will be the following two books:

  1. Daniel Huybrechts, Lectures on K3 surfaces, Cambridge University Press.
  2. Shigeyuki Kondo, K3 surfaces, EMS press
