Biography

I’m an algebraic topologist working at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH) in Stockholm. Previously, I’ve worked in the same racket in Amsterdam and Münster; I got my PhD at MIT and studied in Oxford and Bonn.

I spend most of my days doing research, teaching, and organizing things at the department and outside.

At Stockholm, we’re collaborating with Stockholms universitet (SU) in all matters research and graduate teaching, and I am part of the inter-university Stockholm topology centre.

What’s new

I have been appointed director of the joint (KTH/SU) Master’s program in mathematics in June 2024. After seven years of director of the PhD program, I’m looking forward to this new challenge!

• My new PhD student Elmo Vuorenmaa started August 2022.
• I co-organized a summer school Chromatic homotopy theory and friends at the Mittag-Leffler institute June 7-10, 2022.
• I co-organized a program on Higher algebraic structures in algebra, topology and geometry at the Mittag-Leffler institute January 10–April 29, 2022.
• The Young Topologists meeting 2021 took place online July 5-16, 2021. Thanks to our awesome PhD students and postdocs for the perfect organization.
