I am a PhD graduate in Applied and Computational Mathematics since June 2019. My thesis with the title Toward Robust Optimization of Adaptive Radiation Therapy, is the result of my year-long research on how to combine robust optimization approaches with the concept of adaptive radiation therapy. My doctoral thesis is the result of a collaboration between the Division of Optimization and Systems Theory and RaySearch Laboratories AB. My research has been conducted under the supervision of Professor Anders Forsgren.
Research on real-world problems has been a part of my life since undergraduate studies in Engineering Physics at TU Wien, the Vienna University of Technology. During my studies, I worked as a student researcher at the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), the Vienna Medical University and at the Division of Proton Therapy at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland. In 2010, I received my M.Sc. in 2010 in Engineering Physics from TU Wien, Vienna University of Technology. During my master studies, I spent the academic year 2009⁄2010 at ETH Zurich as an exchange student. After having received my Master’s degree, I joined the particle physics group at the University of Oslo. Later I joined Hermes Medical Solutions AB as an application physicist. In September 2013, I went back to research to pursue my doctoral studies. I successfully defended my thesis on the 14th of June 2019.
