I am a researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and developer of the open-source software polymake for polyhedral geometry and the computer algebra system OSCAR. Prior I held postions as an interim professor at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, a postdoc at at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, a Riley Assistant Professor at Binghamton University and visited the Institut Mittag-Leffler for the program Tropical Geometry, Amoebas and Polytopes. I graduated in the group Discrete Mathematics/Geometry of Technische Universität Berlin advised by Michael Joswig.
My research interests are in the areas of discrete and convex (algebraic) geometry, they include matroid theory, optimization, tropical geometry with its multifaceted applications and the development of mathematical software. A list of my publications can be found here.
In 2021 I (co)organized the conference (Polytop)ics: Recent advances on polytopes (slides and videos available to registered participants).
With Luis Ferroni I am organizing the combinatorics seminar at KTH and with Eline Mannino, Kris Shaw and Chi Ho Yuen I am organzing the first MaP-Trop - Matroids, Polytopes, and Tropical Geometry seminar in Oslo.
Moreover, I am most grateful for feedback regarding matroids in OSCAR which you may find in the current version or on github.
Recently I got awarded with a starting grant of the Swedish Research Council.
In the begining of 2024 I joint the editorial board of Experimental Mathematics.
