MS0: Modern Preconditioners and Linear Solvers in Scientific Applications

An annual minisymposium or workshop on modern linear solvers and preconditioners in scientific applications.

This year's abstract

Linear solvers are some of the most used algorithms in science, and they are vital for large-scale, high-performance scientific and industrial applications in many fields. They traditionally rely on sparse data structures, which challenge the development of high-performance software for modern computer systems. Intimately related to the performance of linear solvers are preconditioner, which is becoming a key for future simulation software. This session aims to bring together researchers working on scalable solvers for large-scale problems with different types of linear solvers and preconditioners. The focus is on methods and the implementation of efficient algorithms and software frameworks for modern and next-gen architectures.
