SweWIN

SweWIN - Swedish Wireless Innovation Network
The overarching goals of the SweWIN competence centre are to:
• Establish a world-leading research environment focused on developing wireless technology for 6G and 7G communications, localization, and sensing that remains beyond the lifetime of the centre, continuously attract funding from external sources, and enable new innovative businesses.
• Contribute to the international competitiveness of the Swedish industry by developing concepts, methods, innovations, and components that make wireless technology more sustainable, resilient, and fair.
• Foster competence development through education and networking, which includes continuous revision of educational programs, industry participation in courses, local seminars, and international workshops.
Wireless technology is developed in ten-years cycles. The initial five-year period of the centre will coincide with the main standardisation and product development for 6G, while more future-looking 7G technology developments will occur in the next five-year period. The centre will adapt its activities with time to take a leading role in both phases. Wireless networks are closely associated with communications, but localization and sensing are two other important functionalities that will at the core of the research in this centre.
