Convertibility is very important for integrating applications and environments
(e.g., using text speech,
speech text,
e-mail pager,
German English, ... )
allows new applications and
new users.
Providing access to information where ever a user is and when ever they want it is one of the prime motivations for wireless access (i.e., they don't have to be in a special place or be plugged in to access this information and it can happen asynchronously - when there is a need for interaction - rather than only limited to special times and places).
