D-Link DGS-1008D power supply

On 2009.05.05 I found my DGS-1008D (the original version, not the "Green" version) with the bottom row of LEDs blinking on and off and the top right most LED in the upper row blinking in alternation. After some web search the cause seemed to be the power supply.

The specific power supply is D-Link I.T.E. Power Supply, Model number AM-0751000V. This power supply takes in 220-240V at 50Hz 120mA and should output 7.5V DC at 1000mA. However, it appears that the voltage was not regulating to within specifications for the DGS-1008D and the switch simply was trying to boot again and again.
