The first period was quite dull, and neither of the teams played at their normal standard, perhaps they were nervous in the first real game this season. The skating was slow and the passes were bad. However, two goals were scored (1-0, Esa Keskinen and 1-1, Patrick Erickson).

In the second period, Djurgården had massive possession and spent most of the time on Hv's territory. They didn't really manage to put the puck in the net, though. Hv's goalkeeper Boo Ahl played well, but I think that Djurgården's forwards should have scored at least two goals instead of the one they did (1-2, Christian Due-Boije (defender!)). In the end of the period the referee (Thomas Andersson) sent off two DIF players (at least the first penalty was quite suspicious), and Hv managed to even the scores.

The third period was in the beginning dominated by Hv, but they scored no goals. Instead Djurgården came back, and Fredrik Lindqvist had a great third period with two goals (2-3 and 2-5 (open net)) and very good play. He has been a promising player for three seasons now, perhaps this will be his year? The 2-4 goal was scored by Joakim Musakka.

It was a quite boring game, much due to the terrible ice, which made the puck dance around chaotically in the end of each period. The result was logical. Djurgården played the better hockey in at least two thirds of the game.

Best goalie: Boo Ahl, Hv71
Best defender: Christian Due-Boije, DIF
Best forward: Fredrik Lindqvist, DIF
