In the first period Djurgården dominated completely, Frölunda crossed the red line only a few times (mostly with icing shots). However, they only created a few good chances, and almost all were created by Espen Knutsen or Patric Erickson. These two had
a real good day. Frölunda were forced to use illegal methods to stop them, and the
goal came in a 5-3 power play; a slapshot from defender Björn Nord.
The second period was a long sleep. One interesting thing happened - the goal. Espen
Knutsen made a splendid pass to Fredrik Lindqvist, and Lindqvist couldn't miss.
The beginning of the third period was spent on Djurgårdens territory. Frölunda did almost as they wanted (except goals), Djurgården had a hard time chasing the puck with little success. Östlund, the Djurgården keeper did a good job, but he is perhaps to blame for the goal. When Esbjörs scored, Östlund was literally swimming around on
the ice. In the middle of the Frölunda pressure for 2-2, Djurgården managed to score
3-1, and Frölunda seemed to give up. Djurgården could keep their lead without much
trouble, and in the last minute come-backing Jan Viktorsson scored Djurgården's fourth goal.
On a scale from 1-5, the game can barely come up to 2. The last period was the only
worth mentioning.
