Following standard procedures, DIF skated slowly and played badly in the beginning of the first period. FBK, on the other hand, played well, and with a little help from the referee they scored the first goal in power play.
The second period offered good hockey. DIF scored in a 5-4 power play after having played 5-3 in more than a minute.
Djurgården continued to possess the puck in the third period, but the FBK defence was aggressive and didn't let the DIF forwards come close to Ketterer. Instead it was Färjestad's 'old' man, Håkan Loob, who scored the winner alone with Thomas Östlund.
Game rating (1-5): 3
Best goalie: Marcus Ketterer, FBK
Färjestad's second goal came very surprisingly: Jonas Höglund got the puck and put it straight into the net with an extraordinary wrist shot. It must be quite impossible to shoot harder not using slapshots.
After this, Djurgården put a lot of pressure on the FBK defence, but Marcus Ketterer, the goalie, played extremely well, and instead Färjestad scored two goals by Jonas Höglund.
In the end of the second period, the referee made some strange decisions. He sent players to the box for nothing, while he efficiently neglected all obvious penalties. Djurgården, taking advantage of this, scored 2-4 and 3-4.
Best defender: Thomas Johansson, DIF
Best forward: Jonas Höglund, FBK
