Summary of the Nadoroth Campaign

The tale begins the day when the evil Zabanoc in Nubayoc and companions faced death. Their ancient plan had backfired and they were left without allies as they struggled to keep control of the precious gateworld. It was in the spring 2984 as the guild of magic assumed the role of the winner but rumors had started about a guild of magic that almost failed to prevail in the needed moment.

{2984 of the new era (NE) is the correct name of the year but most people skip the later part since nobody uses any other form anyway. The origin of this counting traces back to the gods Syruths profecy about 3000 years of peace before the time when the dead will rise.}

{This is not a exact description what has happend in campaign and may on some places differ from what really took place. The reasons could be that I skipped unrelated details, or clues that the group misunderstood. On many cases this could also be from that even while this a summary of what the party has seen I know the truth and this may affect the description. Any comments about the text are welcome}

The current group
The (bard) priest Alexander. Still without proper status in the churce of Petelia but with a cleared named. With the set of curses that tormented him lifted and many projects on the move he only rarely can help the group. Mainly busy in his homeland Ardezia.

The thief Skello (formally known as Gregg). A kleptomanic thief who have made himself a fortune without that party ever noticed it. Is by now known to come from Kzardon but with a history that is still hidden in mystery.

The mythic Gedeon. Busy finding every secret on Finatchia and with more than few good guesses about the nature of things behind the scene. What he got intellectually is surely needed since he aslo got a abillity to mess up simple tasks.

The priest Justarius. A priest to Alroth, the god of the cleaning fire. A valuable member of the team that in unknown ways is connected to the central plot. His family have been hunted by Isbinladin since his ancestor helped putting the warlock Zaban in Nur in a block of crystal. He is also rumored to have very special profecy on himself but the words of the profecy or the intentions behind it are not known.

The magehunter Cvalndlir. Member of the famous the Weissmens and just recently back from a time away from the party. Together with another group of heroes he did manage to track the demon Moglesh, the begger demon, and banish this dangerous creature. After that the other team decided to try bringing order to Kar Cvalndlir decided that it was again time to follow his orginal team.

The figther Maritox. With his old enemy Kylad Marox as a prisoner of the trolls and his friends set free Maritox have done much of what he wanted to do orgianlly. Now he have turned his attention to the main quest of the party. If possibly this have made him even harder to handle and he rarely waits to ask the others before he tryes to solve problems.

The taoist monk Pi. A ugly, cursed and moody gnoll who is one the quest on getting gold and fame. He can't speak but since he is semi telepatic and have to hide his face anyway (very unpleasant when people calls for guards when they see your face) most people misses his lack of voice. Is rumored to be the one that makes Eltai declare Sa'ting'il'athor and known as the one without follower in the propecy of Nag.

The enchancer Ayillon Dartis. A mysterious person that suddenly joined the group. He often manages to recall important arcane knowledge just at the needed time. On Elroch he also in some undetectable way managed to find a human mentalist when the group needed the help of such professional.

Zyr

A visit to Zyr
After that the epic final battle in the dream world was over the group assembled and collected their thoughts. Some discussion was done about the braclet in Maxadi that the group wanted to pick up but the group decided to visit Zyr first. The group contacted the guild that brought them through a gate to easten Ardezia. In Zyr the group picked up their reward of nine gold for their recent work for the guild. Like normal the group took the time to listen for rumors.

The new religious movement
The greatest news heard was that the religious order that had been recruiting people was starting to get active. Ram Lewy, the man who hired the group to find his magic ring, had appeared as the leader of the movement. He had used the magic and detected a huge evil hidden in a temple of Petelia in western Ardezia. Recently he had started to recruit followers and demand that the magic item to be turned over to his mob. Cvalndlir, Gregg and Maritox decided to investigate. The three brave adventurers contacted the church of Petelia but found that they knew very little. After signing a contract they deptarted.

Western Ardezia

Enrollment in the religious movement
The group got there and decided to join the movement to learn more. The mob had grown to around 600 people but it was mostly peasants. A man named Ragor brought them to Ram Lewy. The group was as friends to Lewy soon accepted but the limted number tents made the Ragor ask them to live inside the town if they could afford it. The group asked Lewy was going on and soon understood that things wouldn't be easy.

The problem
Lewy had with his ring detected that the Petelia temple held an great evil power. A vision had appeared and told him to bring the item to a lake in Maxadi to destroy it. Lewy didn't know the sender of the vision but it fitted with his belief of a greater power that was stronger than the gods present. The fundamental standpoint of the movement, that the current churces was corrupt, and the evil item hidden there was enough to make Lewy beyond any reasoning. The matter didn't get less messy due to the guess from the group that the magic item was in fact the dagger of Mameth.

Poisons
The group visited the Petelia temple and learnt that the priests didn't know the location of the dagger. Lewy had prepared a ship down in the harbour to take him to Maxadi and the group concluded that the preparations seemed close to finished. It was obviously a need to do something to prevent a riot. After a lot of discussion the group recuited a poisoner to in case of problems drug Lewy but not kill him.

A bold strategy
It was late in the night but the group was still filled with inspiration. The problem was all the time to remove Lewy from the mob without allerting the mob. After some thinking the group visited Lewy and woke him up. By pretending that there was an unguarded entrance to the temple they managed to get him with them on a trip to the temple. On the way the group spotted three persons following them but decided to continue to the temple.

Finding the dagger
The group got to the temple and sneaked inside. After some searching Lewy located the dagger hidden in the garden. Still the group concluded that there were no point with taking the dagger with them. The group knocked Lewy and departed through a secret passage out of the temple. After some trouble they got horses and traveled away from the town pleased that the mission had completed in such a easy way.

A strange message
The group has been on the way for a few hours when a horse rider appeared follwing them. The group decided to wait for him and found that he had a scroll adressed to the group. The scroll told that things had not gone as well as the group thought. The mob had in the morning attacked the Petelia temple to free. When not finding him there they had started to search for the magic item and is was just a matter of time until the found it.

A lost dagger
The group dropped Lewy in a nearby temple and rode back to the town. Unfortunely it was too late and 30 people from the mob had departed on the ship with the dagger. The group cursed but it was just to face facts. The group discussed what to do and finaly concluded that it would stupid to try to follow the ship directly. Nothing useful would be achieved in an encounter at the sea before the guild of magic had been consulted. The saving fact was the speed of Paranoia. The group could travel to Zyr, learn what to do, reach Paranoia through the gateworld and still got time to catch up with the mob's ship.
