Legends from Finatchia

The harp of joy
One of the more secluded parts of the free world is the Ytnian'as Tangion in the south east, it is normally called the orient and one of the oldest nations still whole. The legends tells that it's glory has never been greater than during the rule of the great H'min Tang for 4700 years ago. H'min Tang got an empire that was allready the strongest empire in the world and with the aid of his trusted advisor Fun Galas he made it even stronger. Fun Galas fame is close to H'min Tangs since he was one of the last true spellmasters of the Guild of magic. With the aid of Fun Galas magic the orient gained a strong place in the world politics. It is said that all continents except Elroch followed what happend in the orient and did as H'min Tang wanted. H'min Tang believed that he was part elven and a decendant to the ancient elfs of Elroch, this have never been proved but could perhaps be true. In reality H'min Tang didn't rule any lands outside the orient but he could not stand the trolls lack of interest in his empire and decided to free Elroch of the trolls. Arnak and the other strong lands close to Elroch didn't want to help but H'min Tang got the support from Maxadi and Wyntox hillmans since they allways loved fighting. De also got strong support from Parax, Kyndros and Rydoz that lies east of Elroch and have then the target of troll raids for thosands of years. H'min Tang spended six years in making war aganist Elroch but never managed to finish the war since the trolls just retreated into the wilderness when H'min Tangs forces managed to capture one of the trolls citys. At the sixt year of the war the troll changed tactics. They had in secret been building a real fleet to replace their old rafts and could suddenly attack back. H'min Tang had burned every large troll city but the trolls was not defeated and attacked back in what is called the great burning. One after one the allies to H'min Tang had to pull back their forces to protect their own home from furious trolls that was attacking to get revenge for their destoyed homes. Finaly H'min Tang gave up his war against the troll and pulled his forces out of Elroch. He had lost more than two million men in the campaign but had a very special treasure with him back to the orient. The treasure was a collection of old elven magic books and was given to Fun Galas. H'min Tang could not stand the failure on Elroch and ordered Fun Galas to use the magic to create a magic weapon to be used against the trolls. What Fun Galas created was not a normal weapon but a wonderfull harp with unbelievable magic in it. It's power could create gold from the nothing and compell armys to lay down their weapons. H'min Tang declared that he would use the harp to unite the world but many of the cultures that had not joined the attack on Elroch didn't like what he had done on Elroch and started to gather their armys to break down H'min Tangs empire. It is still debated in Guild of magic if H'min Tang with the harps help would have been able to win the war even with his weakend armys but clear is that H'min Tang and Fun Galas was killed in a ambush close to their fortress before the war started. H'min Tangs empire was shaken and a bitter sucession war followed. During the war the harp had disapeared without a trace and even while the Guild of magic sended agents for hundreds of years they could not find any trace after the harp. A artifact like the harp could not had been destroyed without notice but the knowledge that the harp must still exist somewhere didn't help much. For thosands of years this legend had been told and rumors has been heard that says somebody has found a lead on the harps hidingplace but the mystery of the harp remains.

The dagger of evil
This is the tale of the cursed dagger of Mamet. The story is known over the whole world but has very strong grip on Ardezia that is center of the story. It was during the third cruasade into the lands of the night that one of the knights found a strange dagger hidden in a large fortress. The armys of light had this time reached longer in to cursed land than ever before a found a fortress named the Eye of Mamet. After a long battle the forces of light had taken the fortress and searched it's large dunegons. The name of the knight is unknown but it is believed that he took the dagger from one of the dead enemy priests and hid it to sell it later. Nothing can be proved but it is believed that it was the dagger of the high priest of the fortress but this is pure speculation. The dagger itself was made in gold and very beutiful but unfortune it was also cursed beyond any mortal magic. The dagger soon started to corrupt the knight in a such subtle way that none of the priests present suspected anything. When the knights retreated back from the fortress they were suddenly followed by armys of enemys and even while they didn't understand why the enemy side wasted their troups in foolish attacks they decided to retreat and try to find out the cause of the attacks. The knigths barely made it to their ships but was able to get their armys out from the lands of the night. At the ship the existance of the dagger was found when the knight finaly fell to the evil and attacked one of the priests. The priest burned into ashes instantly but the evil magic from the dagger killed the knight too a few seconds later. The priests careful examination of the dagger revealed that it was evil beyond belief and completly indestructable. After the cruasade the dagger was taken to Ardezia and it is rumored that by just beeing there it created sorrow and tradegy among the Ardezians. After twenty years the dagger was taken to the temple of Yvlum the justice maker in an attemt to destroy it but it's presence in the temple contamined it severly. Yvlum himself appeard followed by many of the other gods and created a capsule that should shield the dagger from the outside world. It is believed that the capsule was taken to some temple in Ardeiza but the priests refuses to tell where. Since then unnatural disasters happens regulary that must come from that the dagger is moved between the temples and this proves that the dagger still is left there somewhere.

The war about the anvil of dawn
Legends says that Kyndro, the high elfs, was promised at the begining of time that they where to be true makers in the free world and this has always been a strong belief among the Kyndro. Few outlanders understand how the Kyndro could keep this belief since the H'tlians are even older and far more skilled in creating artifacts but the Kyndro believed in this. The Kyndro where because of this very surprised when the dwafes created their masterpiece, the powerful anvil of dawn in 3456 GE. The power of the anvil was so great that the smith could continue to work for hours using the anvil without even heating the metal. Camorbrin the high king of the high elfs sent messengers to the dwarfes to learn how they had managed to do this but the dwarfes refused to let the elfs examine the anvil. The dwarfes had allways been the suppliers of normal metalcraft and had spent much time in trying to get the high elfs to teach their secrets to the dwarfs. Everything could had stopped here but the high elfs had their belief and started a armsrace against the dwarfes determined to create a even better artifact than the anvil. Most details about this is is unknown but it is believed that Camorbrin was tricked to believe that the secret of the anvil was stolen by the dwarfes from a missing high elf. The truth about this is not known but the missing high elf was later found dead in Toladia that only rarley have been visited by the dwarfs and one another strange detail is that the woodelf that came with the message to Camorbrin diasapeard under suspicious circomstances. Anyway the high elf started a war against the dwarfes. With the help from other groups of elfs they attacked dwarfhold after dwarfhold. The dwarfs has allways been good at fighting underground and allways easly defeated attacks before but they didn't have much to counter the elven magic when the elfs attacked. After two years of terrible war the elfs returned to their home but didn't tell what had happend to the dwarfs. The high elfs reputation was damaged and the evidence that supported that the dwarfes had made the artifact themself made the elfs even less popular. In 3470 GE the high elfs gave the keys to their keeps to the Fyndro (grey elves) and disapeared without a trace. Since then there have been many diffrent storys about what happened to the dwarfes and the high elfs. Some say that they left for the land of the night and others that the dwarfes escaped so deep into the ground that they faced defeat against some unknown evil. Clear is that the disappearance of two peoples of makers above and bellow ground was one of the reasons that the darkness almost won during the last rise against the free world.
