:.. Taveuni - "The Garden Island" ..:

To take in Fiji in just one week is impossible, so we went directly to Taveuni, also called "The Garden Island" to find a relaxed place and avoid the most obvious tourist traps. We got the advice to go to Taveuni and a place called Susie's Plantation from my dive instructor, Richard Ohlsson, since he had been there before and liked it. At Susie's there is also Vuna Reef Divers, run by Roland from Switzerland (How come one starts diving when in Switzerland?), which run great divingtrips to the world famous divesites around. Roland and everybody at Susie's are very friendly and nice, so now we can recommend it too.
Generally, Fiji is a very nice place be in. The climate is warm (sometimes too warm though!), the islands are green, the water is warm and blue, the wildlife is good, and, above all, the people are very nice. If you are walking down the road and a car comes by, it almost allways stops and they ask if you want a ride. Taveuni is especially green, that's why it is called "The Garden Island" off course, and especially friendly. There is a lot to see on the other side of the island, where we didn't have time to go, where there is a National Park.
Our pictures of Fiji are generally very scenic but I have tried to take only the best ones and divide them into "scenic" and "not-only-scenic". Here is the result;
