Computational Algebraic Geometry II
PhD Course in Spring Semester 2014
There are many things in algebraic geometry that we can compute using computer algebra packages. In this course, we will look more closely on some of these things using the book Computations in Algebraic Geometry with Macaulay 2 edited by D. Eisenbud, D. R. Grayson, M. Stillman and B. Sturmfels (Available at http://www.math.uiuc.edu/Macaulay2/Book/
). The aim is to develop the computational skills of the participants in order for them to be able to use these methods in their research. This means that the areas we focus on will depend on the participants.
