Contents: Topics such as $f$-vector theory, algebraic
shifting,
Coxeter complexes and buildings, subspace arrangements,
and topological methods in combinatorics, will be treated.
The exact choice of topics will be made as we go along and
may depend on the interests and wishes of the participants.
Examination will be in the form of active participation,
including
reading and presentation of research papers, seminar talks and
special projects.
This course is intended mainly for doctoral students in
combinatorics,
but may be of interest also to students specializing in algebra,
geometry or topology.
