This course was taught at Queen Mary in 2010; it is not being offered in the 2011–2012 academic year.
The course will be largely self-contained, but the book Additive Combinatorics by Terence Tao and Van Vu is a very useful reference for the subject. The following resources are all very good and may offer different perspectives on material covered in class.
Since some students missed the first lecture, I have made notes for this available here.
There are plenty of exercises in the notes, and you are encouraged to do these as we go along. You are welcome to hand in attempts at exercises from the notes and from the example sheets given out in class to me for informal feedback.
