MVAPICH2 with improved intra-node performance on Ekman
MVAPICH2 is available now with an additional kernel module to optimize the performance within a compute node.
The picture shows the bandwidth of a PingPong test for message lengths between 1 Byte and 4 MByte on Ekman. Intra-node communication reaches a bandwidth of more than 5200 MB/sec for a message length of 128 kB with the optimization for shared memory on multi-core nodes (Limic2). For comparison, the bandwidth for this message length is 1436 MB/sec and the absolute maximum is 1719 MB/sec for 512 kB messages without this module.
